Expert tips for easy, breezy outdoor parties

As the beautiful weather arrives, it’s tempting to spend every minute we can in the fresh air and sunshine.

Here are some tips for outdoor events:

  • Keeping things relaxed is the key. A successful outdoor party doesn’t demand anything elaborate. Delicious food, good company, and a convivial setting are all you need.
  • Lay brown craft paper across your tables for a casually finished look (and super-easy cleanup).
  • To make wind less of an issue, weight dishes with small bowls of fresh fruit – a delightful way to welcome guests to the table.
  • Set up tables in separate areas – say, drinks in one spot, dessert in another – to encourage guests to roam.
  • Floating flowers make pretty centerpieces. Just pour water into a large serving platter, and trim the stems off each flower.
  • Not enough seating to go around? Even tree stumps will do just fine.
  • At twilight, make sure you provide plenty of lighting. Candles in glass or paper lanterns draped from tree limbs (with dark extension cords that blend in) are charmingly festive.

Of course, having the right party catering service is the best way to assure a relaxed, fun time for both you and your guests! Whether you’re putting together a graduation party, birthday party, family reunion or corporate event, the catering staff at Jerry’s Kitchen is ready to help.

Every spring and summer we work with clients all over Philadelphia and surrounding areas to organize festive outdoor events.
