The One Ingredient You Didn’t Know You Needed for the Easiest French Toast

There is a secret ingredient to making French toast which makes the food even richer and tastier. Whether it is because you cannot eat eggs or you simply do not have a custard base, melting ice cream is the perfect solution. By melting the ice cream of one’s own choosing and dipping the bread in the mixture before pan frying, the result will come out to be a rich french toast with a base that only takes about 15 seconds to melt and prepare.

Key Takeaways:

  • Use melted ice cream to make French toast.
  • French toast is made by dipping slices of staled bread into a custard base, a mixture of milk and eggs and then pan-frying them it until golden-brown.
  • What already served that purpose in my kitchen? Ice cream! Bingo. And this shortcut was born.

“This part is blissfully simple: Slice your bread. Grab some vanilla ice cream from the freezer.”
