How’s your new year’s resolution holding up? After a few weeks of holiday feasts, most of us use January as an opportunity to reset our eating habits to a healthier path. But eating clean can get old pretty quick, right?
It doesn’t have to be that way! The biggest obstacle to healthy eating is your own imagination–it’s easy to get bored when you’re making the same tired salad or bland chicken breast every night. Luckily, we at Jerry’s are the masters of creative healthy eating. Try out these tips from our kitchen to liven up your menu for the new year while keeping your resolution intact.
 
1. Get out of the green doldrums
 
It’s easy to fall into the habit of eating the same old greens every night. (As much as we love broccoli, it’s a common culprit). But don’t make that mistake! Try to experiment with a couple of new greens every week, and you’ll find that your arsenal of healthy side dishes will grow into an impressive array of options that you’ll actually crave. To start, try out kale, sauteed in olive oil with salt, pepper, and a bit of garlic. For an added flair, toss in a few golden raising for garnish. It’s delicious and cheap, and it couldn’t be easier to cook!

There’s so much more out there than chicken and beef! Spice things up with salmon or shrimp (cheaper than you think, and easy to keep in the freezer until you need them!). You’ll find that your dishes are not only healthy but newly interesting!
